GT Energy Solutions
Georgia Tech VIP Team
About
This class supports the energy goals outlined in the Institute Strategic Plan’s SMART Campus priority area. It advances these goals by engaging students in experiential learning and applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges using the Georgia Tech campus as a living laboratory. Class goals include: – Learning about alternative and emerging clean energy solutions that can be applied to the Georgia Tech campus. – Assessing opportunities to optimize energy use and improve energy efficiency across campus facilities and operations. – Developing proposals and business cases for implementing clean energy solutions that support Georgia Tech’s sustainability and energy goals. During Academic Year 2026/2027, the class will focus specifically on evaluating and developing potential hydrogen energy solutions for the Georgia Tech campus, including opportunities related to hydrogen production, storage, fueling infrastructure, and campus energy applications. The focus of this class is to advance clean energy on the Georgia Tech campus through improved building energy efficiency, the identification of innovative clean energy technologies, and the development of practical solutions. Using Georgia Tech as a living laboratory, students will assess real-world challenges, propose strategies, and implement projects that reduce energy consumption, increase sustainability, and support the Institute’s clean energy goals.
