About
The I-WIN team aims to advance our existing research-grade exoskeletons by transforming them into highly professional wearable systems. The team focuses on the key elements of successful assistive technology wearables—comfort, adjustability, alignment, and aesthetics—while maintaining strong clinical relevance and translational impact. Beginning in Fall 2026, we will introduce a new subteam focused on developing a participant management database system for our clinical research studies. This tool will streamline how we track, schedule, and communicate with participants, and is especially well suited for students interested in computer science and software development. Lab research is organized into smaller subteams of 4–5 students to ensure that all members contribute meaningfully to projects. The primary technical focus of the team remains the transition of our wearable technologies from research-grade prototypes to highly professional, streamlined, comfortable, functional, and well-designed devices intended to augment human function and support individuals with mobility disabilities. In parallel, the addition of the CRM/EMR subteam addresses an important operational challenge: improving how we manage and engage with clinical research participants, enabling more efficient, scalable, and participant-centered studies.
